Black Stars Vote for Africa’s Best XI 2019
Members of the senior national team, the Black Stars have been afforded the opportunity to vote for Africa’s Best XI for the year 2019.
Led by team captain Andre Dede Ayew, the Stars who are currently fine-tuning preparations for next Tuesday’s AFCON 2021 qualifying match against Sao Tome and Principe took turns in deciding which African players they deemed fit to be honoured as members of the year-end “Dream Team”.
The prestigious Team of the Year accolade is CAF’s newest award category in collaboration with FIFPro Division Africa, the continental footballers’ player union. It offers professional African players plying their trade all over the world the chance to vote for their colleagues who have excelled over the course of the past year.
The voting process in Ghana is coordinated by the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG).
Last year, the inaugural Africa Best XI team featured Ghana’s midfield maestro Thomas Partey.
The PFAG is hopeful and confident that our Stars will have further representation in the “2019 Dream Team” when it is revealed at CAF’s African Player of the Year Awards ceremony next year.
